Welcome to Urban Landworks – Your Trusted Partner in Fall Leaf Removal Services
As autumn arrives and the vibrant hues of fall foliage paint a picturesque landscape, it’s time to think about maintaining the beauty of your property. At Urban Landworks, we understand the importance of a well-maintained yard, and our Fall Leaf Removal Services are designed to make your outdoor spaces pristine and ready for the season.
Urban Landworks of Bloomington, MN provides the Fall Yard Cleanup service to get rid of leaves and organic matter that build up over the season on your property. It’s a good idea to get rid of non-mulched leaves on your lawns as they can lead to disease as they rot during the winter months. However, when mulched properly several times this can lead to a healthier lawn come spring as the organic matter has broken down more readily and has provided essential nutrients for your hungry lawn.

Our Fall Leaf Removal Process
- Leaves and Debris will be blown from landscape beds and any areas on the property leaves collect.
- Leaf and Debris hauling and disposal are included in the quoted price.
- Two weeks prior to Fall Cleanups starting, we mulch the turf areas in lieu of discharging the clippings.
- Fall Clean-Ups will begin the last week of October and continue until the weather does not allow us to work.
- If you select the one-time clean-up price we will not come until all the leaves have fallen off your trees. Once the Clean-Up is complete, we are not responsible for leaves that blow into your yard from your neighbors. By request we will return for additional clean-up for an additional charge.
- If you select the two time clean-up price we will come Late-October for your 1st Clean-Up and return when all the leaves have fallen off your trees to do a final Clean-up for the year. Again, we are not responsible for leaves that blow into your yard from your neighbors after 2nd clean-up is complete.
- Pine needles and branches are NOT included in quoted price. We will remove these items upon request for an extra charge.
Have Fall Leaf Removal Questions? We Have Answers!
Why is a professional fall leaf cleanup essential for my Minnesota lawn?
In the Twin Cities, a professional Fall Leaf Cleanup is the primary defense against the winter elements. When heavy leaf accumulation is left on the turf, it creates a thick, wet mat that smothers the grass, blocking vital sunlight and oxygen. This leads to common cool-season issues like snow mold, dollar spot, and crown rot. Our expertise in leaf management ensures your Lawn Restoration and Lawn Fertilizing & Weed Control efforts from the summer aren’t wasted by a suffocating layer of debris.
What specifically is included in the Urban Landworks fall cleanup service?
Our comprehensive Fall Leaf Cleanup involves more than just raking. We utilize high-capacity blowers and debris vacuums to clear leaves from your Foundation Plantings, Natural Stone & Boulder Walls, and Paver Patios. We ensure that window wells, fence lines, and drainage swales are meticulously cleared. Collected leaves are either hauled away to composting facilities or, upon request, mulched into Tree & Shrub beds to provide organic nutrients and winter insulation.
When is the best time to schedule leaf removal in Bloomington and the Twin Cities?
Timing is everything in a Minnesota autumn. We typically begin our Fall Leaf Cleanup visits in late October and continue through November until the first significant snowfall. Rather than following an arbitrary date, we coordinate our crews based on local leaf drop patterns for specific species. We often recommend a “Two-Visit” approach: an initial clearing mid-season and a final “Winter Ready” cleanup to ensure no debris remains to rot under the snow.
How does leaf removal prevent pests like voles and mice during the winter?
A thick carpet of leaves provides the perfect insulated habitat for voles and field mice. These pests hide under the leaf litter to escape predators while they ravage your yard, chewing on the bark of your Trees & Shrubs and creating unsightly tunnels in your turf. By performing a thorough Fall Leaf Cleanup, you remove this protective cover, forcing pests to find shelter elsewhere and protecting your Foundation Plantings and root systems from winter damage.
Can leaves be mulched into my landscape beds instead of being hauled away?
Yes, we can tailor our Fall Leaf Cleanup to be an “eco-friendly” soil amendment service. If your Landscape Design includes large beds for Trees & Shrubs, we can use our specialized equipment to finely mulch the leaves and blow them back into the garden areas. This provides a natural layer of protection against the Minnesota freeze-thaw cycle and, as the leaves decompose, they return valuable nitrogen and phosphorus to the soil, acting as a natural companion to your Lawn Fertilizing & Weed Control program.
How does fall leaf removal relate to my irrigation winterization?
We synchronize our Fall Leaf Cleanup with our Irrigation Service provided by Mr. Rain Irrigation. It is critical to clear the lawn of heavy debris before the ground freezes and before our technicians perform the final Irrigation Winterization (blowout). Removing leaves allows us to easily access your valve boxes and sprinkler heads without interference, ensuring your system is fully protected before the first deep frost hits the Bloomington area.
Does Urban Landworks handle leaf cleanup for large commercial properties?
Absolutely. Our Commercial Landscaping division is equipped with industrial-grade vacuums and high-capacity hauling trucks designed for corporate campuses, HOAs, and retail centers. A clean, leaf-free property is vital for maintaining a professional image and ensuring the safety of walkways and parking lots. We integrate our Fall Leaf Cleanup with Commercial Mowing schedules and transition directly into Commercial Snow Removal to provide seamless, year-round property management.
Why is it important to clear leaves from my gutters and drainage systems?
Leaves don’t just stay on the grass; they often clog the “veins” of your property. Part of a successful Fall Leaf Cleanup is ensuring that your drainage swales and areas around Retaining Walls are clear. If leaves are allowed to clog these areas, melting snow in the spring can back up, leading to ice dams or water intrusion near your foundation. Our “Total Property” approach ensures that water moves safely away from your home, protecting your Hardscaping and basement.
Can I bundle fall cleanup with other maintenance like shrub trimming or aeration?
Bundling is the most efficient way to prepare your property for dormancy. Many of our clients combine a Fall Leaf Cleanup with Shrub Trimming to remove dead wood and Lawn Aeration to relieve soil compaction before the winter. By scheduling these together, our crews can perform all the “heavy lifting” at once, ensuring your Landscape Maintenance is complete and your property is ready for the first flakes of snow managed by Kyle’s Lawn & Snow.
How do I get an estimate and get on the fall schedule?
Our fall schedule fills up quickly as the season changes. The best way to secure your fall cleanup is to contact us in late summer or early autumn. We provide transparent estimates based on the size of your property and the density of your mature Trees & Shrubs. Whether you need a one-time clearing or a recurring seasonal package that includes Spring Cleanups, call Urban Landworks at 952-884-1672 or visit our Contact Page to request your quote.
